BERLIN, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Hoffenheim have recruited midfielder Diadie Samassekou from Salzburg, both clubs confirmed on Thursday.
The "TSG" have reinforced their midfield with the signing of the 23-year-old Mali international, who has put pen to paper on a five-year deal, which keeps him at Hoffenheim until June 2024.
"Being able to bind such a talented player with this power and game intelligence to these conditions, fills us with great joy and also a portion of pride," Hoffenheim's director of football Alexander Rosen said.
Samassekou played four years for Salzburg and provided two goals and six assists in overall 134 competitive appearances. The new arrival plays since 2014 for Mali's national team and scored once in 13 caps.
"I am very much looking forward to the TSG and the Bundesliga. I have opted for Hoffenheim because of their reputation of promoting and strengthening talented players," Samassekou told the club's official homepage.
Hoffenheim encounter Eintracht Frankfurt for their Bundesliga season opener on August 18.
