Dollar edges up to mid-106 yen range after Huawei developments in U.S.

TOKYO, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar was steady around the mid-106 yen zone in Tokyo on Tuesday after edging up following some positive developments in the U.S. with Huawei Technologies Co. supported sentiment.

The dollar was quoted 106.46-47 yen at 5 p.m. compared with 106.59-69 yen in New York and 106.40-41 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo.

During the day, it tracked between 106.40 yen and 106.69 yen, trading most often at the 106.56 yen mark.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1071-1072 dollars and 117.86-90 yen against 1.1073-1083 dollars and 118.09-19 yen in New York and 1.1103-1104 dollars and 118.14-18 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
