Australian cyclist Culey wins 3rd stage of Tour d'Indonesia

JAKARTA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Australian cyclist Marcus Culey finished first in the 3rd stage of the Tour de Indonesia on Wednesday.

Culey, from the Malaysian Sapura Cycling Team, took four hours, 15 minutes and 35 seconds to triumph in the 195.9km stage that runs from Batu to Jember in East Java province.

Rohan Du Plooy from Protouch, South Africa, despite being the best in the sprint category, finished as runner-up 32 seconds after Culey, while Japanese cyclist Yudai Arashiro from Kinan Cycling Team posted third place.

Cyclists will compete on Thursday in the fourth stage of the five-stage race, a 151.9km ride from Jember to Banyuwangi.

The Tour de Indonesia has attracted a total of 18 teams this year.
