U.S. swimmers secure 10 more medals at junior worlds

BUDAPEST, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The US team took a dominant lead in the 7th FINA World Junior Swimming Champions in Budapest Friday, collecting more than 10 medals (including 4 gold) and establishing one World Junior Record and two Championships Records.

In the men's 200m breaststroke final, Josh Matheny from the United States came from the behind to first touch the finish line in two minutes 9.40 seconds, beating Japanese swimmer Shoma Sato who was the fastest of the semis, and set a new Championships Record which was only 0.01 shy of the World Junior Record.

Australian Lani Pallister dominated at the women's 400 freestyle final, touching for gold in 4:05.42, breaking the Championships Record (4:06.17) set by her compatriot Tamsin Cook from Singapore in 2015.
