BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Liu Jieyi, director of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, expressed expectations for Taiwan enterprises' further development on the Chinese mainland Wednesday.
Liu made the remarks at a cross-Strait forum on technology development.
Noting the strong momentum and resilience of the mainland economy, Liu expressed the hope that the Taiwan compatriots and enterprises will give full play to their advantages and make greater achievements in the high-quality development of the mainland.
Liu said the future of Taiwan and Taiwan compatriots hinges on a sound cross-Strait relationship.
He called on Taiwan compatriots to continue to uphold the 1992 Consensus, oppose "Taiwan independence" and make further contributions to the peaceful development of cross-Strait ties.
