Tokyo stocks fall in morning on concerns for global economic outlook

TOKYO, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Monday morning due to concerns over the outlook for the global economy after the latest tariff moves that took place over the weekend.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 50.38 points, or 0.24 percent, from Friday to 20,653.99.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 4.34 points, or 0.29 percent, at 1,507.52.

Farm and fishery, mining and land transportation-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
