Rural teacher Wang Fuping rides his motorcycle to get new textbooks brought by his colleague in Gaojiagou township of Liulin county, Lyuliang, north China's Shanxi Province, Sept. 4, 2019. Located in the deep Lyuliang Mountains of Shanxi Province, Yangjiawa village is almost isolated from the outside world, where villagers must spend more than one hour running on rugged mountain roads to get to the county seat. The Yangjiawa primary school is the only school here for children in the village. Wang Fuping, 39, has been working as a rural teacher for 19 years at several rural primary schools within the township. In 2007, Wang offered to teach at the Yangjiawa primary school when he learned the teacher here retired. Since then he has been the only teacher of the school. For the past 12 years, Wang Fuping has devoted himself to his work at the school, seeing several batches of students graduating from here. There are only six students in the school now. Wang's perseverance helps children here fulfil their thirst for knowledge. "I feel very satisfied to impart knowledge to the students. Study can change their life. I would like to stay here all my life." Wang said. (Xinhua/Zhan Yan)
