JERUSALEM, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Israel and North Macedonia played out a 1-1 draw in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group G on Thursday.

The 10,000 home fans thought Munas Dabbur had put Israel ahead in the 24th minute, but the Sevilla striker's goal was ruled out for handball.

At the other end of the pitch, visiting midfielders Ezgjan Alioski and Enis Bardhi both missed good opportunities to put their team first on the scoreboard.

After a scoreless first half, Guangzhou R&F striker Eran Zahavi put Israel ahead in the 55th minute after latching onto a pass from Manor Solomon.

North Macedonia leveled the score in the 64th minute with Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Arijan Ademi heading in Alioski's free-kick.

Israel currently sit second in Group G with eight points, ahead of Austria (6 points), Slovenia (5), North Macedonia (5), and Latvia (0).

Poland are currently in first place with 12 points, with the top two teams in the group qualifying for the Finals, to be held in 12 cities across Europe starting in June 2020.

Israel and North Macedonia have now five games remaining, while the other teams in Group G still have six games to play.
