GAZA, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Israeli air forces carried out late on Friday night a series of airstrikes targeting military posts and facilities in the Gaza Strip in response to five projectiles fired into Israel, security sources in Gaza said.

The sources said that Israeli war jets struck with missiles training facilities and lookout posts that belong to Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing in different areas in the coastal enclave.

Gaza Health Ministry said in a press statement that no injuries or casualties were reported. However, the security sources said that severe damage was caused to the posts and facilities.

The Israeli airstrikes on the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip came shortly after five projectiles were fired into southern Israel, according to an Israeli army spokesman's statement, adding that the rockets landed into Israel, causing no injuries or damages.

No one claimed responsibility for firing the rockets form Gaza into southern Israel. The rockets firing came after two Palestinian teenagers were shot dead by Israeli soldiers' gunfire in eastern Gaza.

The Palestinian factions, including Hamas movement, held Israel fully responsible for killing the two teenagers, and vowed revenge for killing them.
