NAIROBI, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Kenya will launch its campaign against Scotland in the World T20 cricket qualifiers scheduled for Dubai next month.

However, lack of funds and leadership wrangles have delayed the start of Kenya's team training camp in Nairobi as players jostle with Cricket Kenya (CK) officials over contracts.

CK vice-chairman Harpal Sehmi says Kenya will be ready for the qualifiers, which start in Dubai from October 18 to November 2.

"It is important to give the team good preparations. The players have been out of competition for four months and they may be rusty at the start. But they need to get back in competition shape," Sehmi said on Friday.

"I want Cricket Kenya to clear with the players so that they may focus on the goal ahead that is getting good results in the World Cup qualifiers," head coach Maurice Odumbe said.

Kenya is pooled with Scotland, the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Namibia, Singapore and Bermuda in Group A in the tournament, top six teams of which will join India, Pakistan, hosts Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies, in the 2020 finals.
