DOHA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Qatar on Tuesday strongly condemned a bomb attack on a campaign rally by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
"The State of Qatar is expressing extreme condemnation of the explosion that targeted an election rally of the Afghan president and left dozens killed or wounded," the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It expressed condolences to the families of the victims and hope of recovery for the injured.
The ministry also reaffirmed Doha's "firm position renouncing violence and terrorism regardless of the motives or reasons."
At least 24 people were killed and more than 32 others were wounded when a suicide bomber on a motorcycle targeted Ghani's rally in Charikar, capital city of Parwan province, 69 km north of the capital Kabul.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for Tuesday's attack in Charikar, the capital of Parwan.
