KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait on Tuesday called for caution and readiness to face the threats to security and stability in the region.

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Acting Defense Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah made the remarks during a meeting with Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah and a number of ranking officers of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces.

He praised the efforts of the armed forces and vital military sectors for preserving the security of Kuwait.

He also reviewed the current regional developments and the threats to the region, reiterating Kuwait's condemnation of the recent attacks on the Saudi oil facilities.

On Sept. 14, bomb-laden drones hit two oil production plants of Saudi oil giant Aramco in Abqaiq and Khurais, knocking out half of its oil output and leading to a oil price hike.

Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the U.S. held Iran, the Houthi ally, accountable.
