BEIRUT, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese army's maritime forces arrested on Wednesday 41 Syrian and Lebanese nationals attempting to immigrate by sea in an illegal way, local media reported.
The arrested people were using a boat on the shore between Anfeh and Qalamoun in north of Lebanon, according to Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.
The arrested people were referred to related judiciary bodies for investigations and other legal procedures.
This is not the first time that Lebanon's security forces stops such an operation.
Syrian refugees have attempted on many occasions to leave Lebanon in an illegal way in search for better living conditions in other countries.
