Oman shows readiness to welcome Chinese tourists

MUSCAT, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Omani Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday organized a workshop aimed at introducing the Omani tourism to China's market to attract Chinese tourists.

The workshop, titled "Omani Tourism Readiness to Receive Chinese Tourists," was held in Omani capital Muscat in the presence of Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, undersecretary for the Omani Ministry of Tourism, and Li Lingbing, China's ambassador to Oman.

The workshop was also attended by a number of companies and institutions of the Omani tourism sector.

The Omani official stressed the importance of the Chinese market to Oman as one of the most important global markets targeted by the Omani tourism.

Li told Xinhua that the relations between Oman and China are distinguished and have further increased especially after the establishment of strategic partnership between the two countries last year.

"This has increased the volume of cooperation between the two countries in many fields including tourism, and doubled the number of Chinese tourists arriving in Oman during the first half of this year," Li added.
