BOGOTA, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Colombia will face Algeria in a friendly in France next month as head coach Carlos Queiroz finalizes his preparations for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The clash will be played in Lille on October 15, three days after a previously announced friendly against Chile in Alicante, Spain, the Colombian Football Federation said in a statement.

The matches are expected to mark the return for Colombia of Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez and Galatasaray striker Radamel Falcao.

Both players missed the South American team's friendly draws with Brazil (2-2) and Venezuela (0-0) earlier this month because of leg muscle injuries but have since returned to action for their respective clubs.

Queiroz has also included Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina, Everton defender Yerry Mina, Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado, Atletico Madrid full-back Santiago Arias and Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez in his preliminary 37-man squad.

The South American zone's qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup will begin next March.
