Kuwait forms new gov't

KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait formed a new government on Tuesday led by Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The government appointed two new ministers, Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as deputy prime minister and minister of defense, and Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah as minister of foreign affairs, the Kuwait News Agency reported.

Three women were chosen in the new government.

Addressing the new ministers, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah urged them to double efforts to accelerate development and construction in order to meet the aspirations of the people.

The Kuwaiti emir issued on Nov. 19 an order naming Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as prime minister.

Kuwait experiences frequent cabinet reshuffles.
