BEIRUT, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The chief of Lebanon's Internal Security Forces (ISF) said on Friday that ISF has adopted a strategy aimed at increasing its capabilities to international standards by 2022.
"We strive to implement our strategic plan within the available material and human capabilities and aspire to achieve them by the end of 2022 to reach international standards," said Imad Osman, director general of the ISF, during his meeting with President Michel Aoun.
Osman said the ISF is facing a lot of difficulties amid great pressure on its operational, judicial and administrative levels.
"Internal Security Forces has not recruited enough people in the past years," he said.
For his part, Aoun called on security agencies to be aware of security threats while fighting against corruption and maintaining the rule of law.
