Shanxi, Zhejiang revamp CBA rosters

BEIJING, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) sides Shanxi Loongs and Zhejiang Lions have rung in the new year by replacing overseas players in their rosters.

Shanxi brought all-around guard Jamaal Franklin back into their squad at the expense of Cameron Payne.

Franklin had averaged 29.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 10.2 assists in 19 appearances before being sidelined with a shoulder injury.

In his absense, Payne posted an average of 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 4.5 steals in two games.

With a 13-9 win-loss record, Shanxi rank 10th in the 20-team CBA.

New Zealand guard Corey Webster comes into Zhejiang's roster in place of center Miles Plumlee, who averaged 11.3 points and 7.9 boards in seven matches.

Webster averaged 22.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists for his country at the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.

Zhejiang Lions sit eighth after bagging 14 wins from 23 matches.
