TIANJIN, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- A senior manager from Poland who works for a Four Seasons hotel in north China's Tianjin Municipality sees booming business during the Spring Festival holiday.

Michal Krauze, 35, the director of Food & Beverage (F&B) of Four Seasons in Tianjin, says all restaurants at the hotel are fully booked.

"Our Chinese restaurant, we have been fully booked, which has 250 guests," said Krauze. "The buffet restaurant has been 90 percent booked, which has 150 guests. So we could see that the business for the restaurant has been increasing.

To prepare for the Spring Festival, the most important festival of the year in China, Krauze and his colleagues started to design new dishes three months ago.

"We cater to international business as well expats in Tianjin," he said. "We have new chefs joining us this year who specialized in cooking different cuisines around the world."

To ensure safety for customers and staff members, the hotel has implemented strict epidemic prevention and control measures.

Guests could scan QR codes to learn more information about the ingredients, including their sources of origin and where they had PCR tests before coming to the hotel.

Krauze says China's epidemic control measures are very effective. That's the reason why the business of his hotel could pick up since April last year.

"Our restaurant business level is even better than the previous years," said Krauze. "We've been back to full operation in April. Business is even better in May, June, July, August than in 2019. We've been growing the business in the restaurant by 20 percent month-to-month compared to the previous years," he added.

Krauze married a Chinese wife. Now they have two girls.

His loved ones are spending the Spring Festival in south China's Guangzhou, the city he was working in before transferred to Tianjin two years ago.

Due to work, Krauze has to stay in Tianjin this Lunar New Year.

Like Krauze, many of his colleagues also stay in Tianjin during this year's Spring Festival as the country encourages people to stay put to help stem COVID-19.

"I have some celebration with my team. We also have some good dinner because they are also away from their families," he said.

Speaking of family, Krauze says he also misses his parents in Poland very much as he has not seen them for more than a year due to the pandemic. He says, in the new year, he hopes everyone can stay sound and safe.
