GRIEVING Downton Abbey widow Lady Mary Crawley has bagged a new title — the 14th richest fictional character in the world.
The aristocratic beauty — credited with a £710million fortune in today’s money — has scraped into the Forbes Fictional 15 Rich List.
She is a new entry to the annual list, compiled by US business magazine Forbes analysing characters’ stories and assets using “real-world” prices.
The wealth of Lady Mary — played by Michelle Dockery, 31 — is attributed to “inheritance and marriage” and is based on her recent claim to the Downton estate after the death of husband Matthew.
She gave birth to their son just as viewers saw his father die in a horrific car crash.
Another Brit on the list is Tomb Raider game and film character Lara Croft. Daughter of an English aristocrat, she has £840million.
But the list is topped by Scottish Disney character Scrooge McDuck — who has £42billion from mining investments and “treasure hunting”.
The runner-up is gold-hoarding dragon Smaug from The Hobbit, who has £34.8billion from “marauding”.
Others on the list include the alter-egos of superheroes Iron Man and Batman, comical Simpsons tycoon C. Montgomery Burns — and the Mr Monopoly game character.
