JAKARTA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- More than 1,100 cyclists have confirmed their participation in Tour de Bintan in Indonesia in March, a government official said on Friday.
Head of tourism office in Bintan of Kepulauan Riau province Luki Zaiman Prawira said that the participants are from 43 nations and regions.
Tour de Bintan is scheduled to be held from March 23 to 25 of this year in Bintan Island.
Zaiman disclosed that Tour de Bintan is the only tourism activity combined with sport which has been acknowledged by the international cycling organization.
"The international cycling organization admitted that the route in Tour de Bintan is the best in Indonesia," he said.
To make the tour more attractive the committee lengthens the route along beautiful scenery, the official added.
