MONTEVIDEO, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino said Monday that Celeste's rivals in the first stage of this year's World Cup are "within reach," but vowed not to underestimate any team in Russia.

The two-time World Cup winners have been drawn in Group A for the June 14-July 15 tournament, alongside Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the hosts.

"I like the group, the other teams are within our reach although it will depend a lot on what we do as well," Vecino told Uruguayan radio station Sport 890 on Monday.

"We know that the World Cup is very balanced and competitive. Nobody gives you anything," he remarked.

Vecino, who has been in impressive form for Italy's Inter Milan this season, agreed that Uruguay's strength lies in its attack.

Among the forwards that coach Oscar Tabarez has at his disposal are Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, Christian Stuani and Maximiliano Gomez.

"I follow them all and I am happy because they are all playing at a high level," he said. "We hope they will keep it up and that they can carry that form into the tournament."

Uruguay will play their first World Cup group match against Egypt on June 15.
