MADRID, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid warmed up for their Champions League tie in Paris next week with a 3-1 win at home to Getafe on Saturday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice after Gareth Bale had opened the scoring to beat their rivals from the south of Madrid.

Bale opened the scoring from 12 yards out after Getafe failed to clear a corner and Ronaldo doubled the lead on the stroke of halftime after a Karim Benzema pass.

A Francisco Portillo penalty briefly gave the visitors hope, but Ronaldo's second goal of the game assured the points stayed in Madrid ahead of next week's season defining Champions League tie.

Sevilla strengthened their position in fifth with an easy win at home to Athletic Club Bilbao in a game that was over by the 34th minute, by which time Luis Muriel and Fran Vazquez had put Sevilla 2-0 up against a much-changed Athletic.

The visitors made three changes at halftime, but if it hadn't been for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga the winning margin would have been greater.

Girona produced a smash-and grab raid to win 2-0 away to Villarreal, who had more of the ball than the Catalan side, but were beaten by goals from Cristian Stuani and Antonio Lozano, who scored a curling shot 10 minutes before the final whistle.

Eibar took a point from their visit to struggling Deportivo la Coruna thanks to a goal from Takashi Inui. Deportivo equalized with an own goal after Florin Andone had hit the post with a header, but the Liga Santander strugglers' chances of a win went out of the window when goalkeeper Malsym Koval was sent off for a wild challenge on Joan Jordan.

Finally Malaga's struggles continue as they lost 2-0 away to Leganes, who claimed all three points with second half goals from Javi Eraso and Nordin Amrabat.
