BERLIN, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Hertha Berlin on Thursday completed their first summer transfer after signing Javairo Dilrosun from Manchster City's youth team.

The Bundesliga club announced in an official statement that the "Herthaner" strengthen their offense and sealed a future investment as talented striker Dilrosun has put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

"We have observed him for a long time and have followed his development intensively. He has enjoyed excellent tactical and technical training at Ajax youth academy and at Manchester City. Besides, he is fast and technically gifted. We are happy that we were able to sign him despite the interest of other well known clubs," Hertha Berlin sporting director Michael Preetz said.

The 19-year-old striker was from 2006 on player at Ajax's youth academy before he joined Manchester City in 2014. Hertha's new arrival made overall 39 appearances for several "Citizens" youth teams. Besides, the striker made 45 caps for the Dutch national youth teams.

"My first meeting with sporting director Michael Preetz and coach Pal Dardai was very positive. They made me feel good and convinced me to move to Berlin. One of the reasons for my transfer was that Hertha relies on young players. The club has many young talents, who come here to play," Dilrosun said.

Hertha Berlin sit currently on the 10th place of the standings. They encounter newly promoted Hannover and Leipzig for the last two rounds of the Bundesliga season.
