KHARTOUM, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday said the government expenditure on health exceeds the figure set in the country's general budget.

Al-Bashir made the remark when addressing a celebration in Khartoum to launch the distribution of rainy season health equipment for Sudan's states for 2018.

He stressed the importance of good preparation for the rainy season and work to combat diseases.

Sudan's Health Minister, Bahar Idris Abu Garada, vowed to provide the Sudanese states with all the health requirements and free treatment for the citizens through the policies of the National Medical Supplies Fund.

He urged the states' governors to deploy the health equipment for 2018 rainy season effectively so that they would actively benefit citizens.

This year's rainy season health supplies include medicines, emergency clinics, ambulances, blood banks and refrigerators for preserving vaccines that cost more than 476 million Sudanese pounds (about 26.45 million U.S. dollars).
