BERLIN, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Mainz have signed Jean-Paul Boetius from Feyernoord Rotterdam, the "Nullfuenfer" confirmed on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has penned a four-year contract and will stay June 2022.
"Jean-Paul Boetius is a very dynamic player whose strengths lie in one-on-one situations with his good technique and counter game. We are pleased that Jean-Paul wants to take the next step and joins Mainz and the Bundesliga," Mainz sporting director Rouven Schroeder said.
The new arrival joins from Feyernoord Rotterdam where he scored six goals in 29 appearances.
"I had a very good feeling right from the start. The city, the club, its fans, the coach and the team are all great opportunities to develop. I am really looking forward to the Bundesliga," Boetius said.
Mainz will face Stuttgart at the second round in Bundesliga on Saturday.
