DUBAI, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Dubai Land Department on Thursday announced the launch of the Dubai Property Show (DPS) in Shanghai, the largest city in China.

The fair and exhibition will be held at Everbright Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, the Dubai department said.

"The DPS will be attended by a number of selected leading real estate, brokerage, and finance companies from Dubai," it added.

The shows will primarily focus on "Dubai's unique features as one of the world's best investment and tourism destinations, and highlight the vital real estate sector, as well as the various options available to different customers for investment or family accommodation purposes."

Majida Ali Rashid, assistant director general and head of the Dubai Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Center, said "Dubai's strategic location and diversified economy" will also be featured in the shows.

The Dubai Land Development has already launched a real estate promotion trustee office in China.

Earlier in June, government-controlled developer Dubai Properties said Chinese buyers have remained among its top 10 buyers in terms of value over the past two years, UAE Gulf News reported.

China has been the UAE's largest trading partner for several consecutive years. Statistics showed bilateral trade hitting 41 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, a 1.06-percent increase from the previous year.

In 2017, Chinese visitors to the UAE surged to over 1 million. Since January, Chinese tourists can travel visa-free to the Gulf state after the two countries signed a mutual visa exemption deal for ordinary passport holders.

More than 200,000 Chinese nationals live in the UAE, while more than 4,000 Chinese firms run operations in the Gulf state.
