RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- More than 100,000 formal jobs were created in Brazil in August, President Michel Temer said Thursday.

It is more than double the number of jobs created in July, which stood at 47,319, the best result for the month since 2012, according to data from the minister of Labor and Employment's General Register of Employed and Unemployed..

"This is the proof that Brazil is on the right course, and in full recovery," Temer said on his Twitter account.

If this trend continues through the end of the year, Brazil will have halted three consecutive years of declines in job creation.
