XI'AN, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Yangling will hold the fifth edition of its international marathon on April 14, according to a statement from the Yangling Agriculture Hi-Tech Industrial Demonstration Zone sports bureau.
"We are setting up five events, including marathon, half-marathon, 5 km race, 3 km race for teenagers and a home run competition," said the statement.
"The runners can register through the official website (http://www.yangling-marathon.com) from January 28 to February 27," the statement added.
Runners will be able to navigate using a digital competition brochure, and a video surveillance system will be used to help the referees catch cheating.
The Yangling Agriculture Hi-Tech Industrial Demonstration Zone is a national-level high-tech development zone in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
In the 2018 edition of the Yangling marathon, 2,000 runners took part in the full marathon. Jonathan Korir from Kenya clocked in at 2:16.27 to win the men's race, while Kenyan Emmah Kiruki was the winner of the women's group, finishing the 42.195 km race in 2:33.59.
