ISTANBUL, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- A 16-year-old boy was rescued on Friday from the rubble, 45 hours after the collapse of an eight-storey apartment building in Istanbul, Turkey's interior minister announced.
The Hurriyet daily quoted Suleyman Soylu as saying that the injured boy was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Press reports said the rescue teams were in contact with five others trapped under the debris.
According to the latest casualties reported by the Istanbul governor's office, 11 people were killed and 14 others injured in the collapse of the building in the Kartal district.
