SANTIAGO, April 5 (Xinhua) -- A first-half goal from veteran striker Sebastian Saez gave Chile's Universidad Catolica a 1-0 victory over Brazilian side Gremio in their Copa Libertadores group match here on Thursday.

Saez struck in the 17th minute by meeting a Stefano Magnasco cross from the right with a low first-time finish.

Universidad remained second in Group H with six points from three matches while 2017 champions Gremio stayed third with just one point.

Meanwhile Paraguay's Libertad maintained their three-point lead at the top of the group with a 2-0 home win over Rosario Central of Argentina.

Mathias Espinoza opened the scoring just after halftime and Jorge Recalde doubled the hosts' lead in the 69th minute. Rosario Central were reduced to 10 men when Marcelo Ortiz was cautioned for a second bad foul with 15 minutes left.

In Thursday's only other match, Paraguay's Olimpia won 3-0 at Sporting Cristal in Peru.
