BEIJING, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong action thriller "P Storm" was the highest grossing film on the Chinese mainland market on Thursday, according to China Movie Data Information Network on Friday.
The forth installment of the Storm franchise grossed nearly 78 million yuan (11.6 million U.S. dollars) on the first day of release.
It was followed by "The Shadow Play," which earned 16.4 million yuan. It tells a story about a policeman probing into an intricate case.
Coming in third was "Andhadhun," an Indian black comedy, which earned 11.9 million yuan.
