DAMASCUS, July 14 (Xinhua) -- At least six civilians were killed and eight others wounded on Sunday by rebels' mortar fire that targeted Aleppo city in northern Syria, state news agency SANA reported.
The mortar shells were fired on residential areas in Aleppo, SANA said.
Since being recaptured by the Syrian army in 2016, Aleppo has remained largely safe except from the mortar shelling by the rebels.
The radical rebels, located in the western and northern countryside of Aleppo, frequently fire mortar shells on the city and government-controlled areas in the countryside of Aleppo Province.
