GAZA, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Hamas movement's politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh said Saturday that his group has rockets that can strike any place in Israel.

"In spite of the (Israeli) siege, the armed resistance (Hamas) is still powerful and its abilities have become strong," Haniyeh said in a meeting with Turkish journalists on video conference from his Gaza office.

Hamas movement, which has been ruling the Gaza Strip since it violently seized control of the territory in 2007, is listed by Israel and the United States as a "terrorist" organization.

The movement refuses to recognize Israel or the peace accords, which were signed between Israel and Palestine Liberation Organization , and insists that the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories can only be ended by force.

However, Haniyeh told the Turkish reporters that his movement is willing to temporarily accept the establishment of a Palestinian State on the territories that Israel occupied in 1967, adding "but we will never recognize the Israeli occupation."

Asked about his movement's ties with Iran, Haniyeh unveiled that a high-ranking Hamas delegation is scheduled to visit Tehran on Sunday "for holding very important meetings."
