LUSAKA, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's soccer governing body revealed on Friday that it is close finding a coach for the national soccer team.

The Zambia team has had no permanent coach since the firing of Belgian Sven Vandenbroeck in February this year after the failure to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

But the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) said it will soon finalize the process to appoint the national team coach.

"The candidate is expected in the country next week to finalize recruitment process and to sign the employment contract," Adrian Kashala, the secretary-general said in a press release.

He added that the government, as a major shareholder, has already been notified.
