WINDHOEK, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Namibia senior men's cricket team needs to bounce back on Friday, following their defeat in their debut tri-nations Cricket World Cup League 2 series tie against the United States, said coach Pierre De Bruyn.
"We are a team that bounces back a lot better when we are hurt. We need to be smart in our game plan in the next game on the wicket that suits spinners," he added, in remarks issued by Cricket Namibia on Thursday.
De Bruyn said the debut match they played on Tuesday was an eye-opener and his team had a good learning experience especially on pitches that Namibia is not familiar on.
"At the end of the day, we did not get enough runs, a credit to the USA as they were very disciplined in their bowling. We have now obtained some good information and hope to upset the hosts," he added.
The tri-nations series of the Cricket World Cup League 2 tournament forms part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup and the series is currently underway in Ford Lauderdale, USA.
After the USA game Friday, Namibia will face Papua New Guinea on September 22 and 23.
