BRATISLAVA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Slovan Bratislava football club remains on top of the Slovak premier football league Fortuna Liga with a 7-point lead despite a goalless draw in Zilina in the 17th round on Sunday. The home team is in third place in the rankings with a 3-point deficit to Dunajska Streda.

Bratislava came close several times to scoring in the most attractive match-up of the 17th round but the ball bounced twice off the goal post and was saved by Zilina's goalkeeper Dominik Holec in all the other visitors' chances.

Elsewhere, Dunajska Streda missed a penalty kick in the second half against low-ranked Nitra but the Croatian-born striker Marko Divkovic made up for his teammate's wasted chance and scored the only goal of the match, bringing a close 1-0 victory to the home team.

Trnava's striker Kubilay Yilmaz single-handedly secured a 2-0 victory against fourth-ranked Ruzomberok, moving the home team up two spots in the rankings to fifth place. Ruzomberok's streak without a defeat ended after nine matches.

The team from Zlate Moravce kept on gathering points, bringing home the third draw in the last four matches, this time 0-0 against Senica but dropped one spot in the rankings to sixth place.

The easternmost team in the league, Michalovce, moved up two spots to eighth place after defeating Sered 2-0, serving the home team its third loss in a row. Michalovce's Armenian striker Armen Hovhannisyan got on the pitch in the 92nd minute and managed to get booked and score the second goal of his team within two minutes.

After 14 straight rounds without a victory, Fortuna Liga newcomer Pohronie triumphed in Trencin in a close game 1-0, earning its second win of the season.
