BRITISH workers will be £6,660 worse off come the next election than they were when David Cameron became PM, Labour claimed yesterday.
Analysis by the House of Commons library showed that after inflation, wages will be £1,520 a year lower in 2015 than they were in 2010.
It also revealed that Mr Cameron has presided over 36 MONTHS of falling wages since coming to power
Meanwhile, energy bills and rail fares have soared.
Shadow Treasury minister Chris Leslie said: “David Cameron will go down in history as a disastrous Prime Minister for people’s living standards.”
“His economic policies have failed and the result is working families are massively out of pocket.”
But Government whip Mark Hunter hit back: “The reason the cost of living is high is because Labour crashed the economy.
“For them to criticise the Coalition for cleaning up their mess is utterly hypocritical.”
The row came as TUC figures showed Brits’ savings fell from £20.1billion to £11.4bn in the last year.
