McAvoy tells of 'weird' racy scene with sister
Troubled ... James McAvoy's junkie cop character sexually harasses woman in the film
ACTOR James McAvoy admits filming his new movie got weird — when he shot scenes sexually harassing his real SISTER.
The star, 34, plays the lead role in the big screen adaptation of the Irvine Welsh book Filth.
But his sister Joy, 31, has a brief cameo appearing opposite him in a racy sequence.
James, who starred in Atonement and The Last King of Scotland, said he felt odd acting inappropriately with his sibling.
Real life love ... with wife Anne-Marie Duff
The actor, who is married to actress Anne-Marie Duff, said: “Not in my wildest dreams did I think my sister and I would be doing the same job, let alone sharing a screen, let alone me sexually harassing her.
“Thankfully, I didn’t have to kiss her, or touch her or anything like that. But it was a wee bit weird.
“It was only hard because I couldn’t stop laughing. I was the one doing the bad stuff. I was like, ‘Yeuch!’
James plays Bruce Robertson - a bipolar junkie policemen who manipulates his way through the festive season in a bid to win back his wife and daughter.
Younger sister Joy has previously said of her brother’s influence: “My brother is a great role model. He encourages me to follow my dreams — it has certainly worked out for him.”
