WINDHOEK, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's U-20 football team will face Botswana in the first round of the 2019 Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers from March 30 to April 1 in Gaborone, Botswana.

The second leg will take place in Windhoek, Namibia in late April.

According to Namibia's Football Association, the winner of the tie will proceed to the second round to face Congo in May with the winner of that meeting advancing to the third and final round of the qualifiers to face either Senegal or Egypt in July.

Meanwhile, the 2019 qualifiers will see 12 countries being exempted from the first round by virtue of their qualification at the final tournaments of the last two editions.

The tournament is held every two years and will be hosted by Niger in 2019, with the four semi-finalists qualifying for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The host for that tournament will be announced in March.
