JAKARTA, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Young golfers of hosts Indonesia won most at the 2019 Menpora-PAGI International Junior Golf Championship that ended on Friday in southern Jakarta's Emeralda golf course.
Jointly organized by the Indonesian Sport and Youth Ministry (Menpora) and national golf academy association PAGI, the 2019 Menpora-PAGI International Junior Golf Championship welcomed 144 junior golfers from 14 countries and regions including China, the United States and South Korea.
Golfers of the host country were the most successful in the 10 categories competed. Indonesian women's player Patricia Sinolungan received the Best Gross Overall award of the event.
"This tournament in Indonesia gives golden opportunities for potential domestic and international golfers to vie in a championship that par with the other highly competitive ones using international standards," the tournament chief organizer Soegianto Anggono said in his closing remarks.
