Shanghai SIPG beat Jiangsu Suning 3-0, chasing Beijing in CSL standings

BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai SIPG savored a 3-0 away victory over Jiangsu Suning on Saturday, closing to two points against league leaders Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League (CSL).

With the win, Shanghai SIPG tied with Guangzhou Evergrande on the runners-up place with 43 points from the 17 rounds of matches.

Brazilian Hulk De Souza scored the stunning opener in the 2nd minute, his seventh goal of the season, and made a pair of assists in the 17th and 56th minutes for Shanghai SIPG, while Jiangsu had both Xie Pengfei and Ye Chongqiu booked with red cards during the stoppage time.

Also on Saturday, Beijing Renhe lost to Wuhan Zall 2-0 at home as the visitors scored the goals in the 43rd and 81st minutes, and Tianjin Tianhai tied Shenzhen 2-2 at home.

Both Beijing Renhe and Tianjin Tianhai tailed in the 16-team league with 11 points, while Shenzhen ranked fourth from the bottom with 14 points.

On Friday, Shandong Luneng lost to Henan Jianye 3-2 to rank in a distant fourth place with 28 points, Dalian Yifang beat Guangzhou Fuli 3-2 for 23 points, and China Fortune defeated Shanghai Shenhua 2-1 to place 12th in the league.
