Malen and Ghoochannejhad write history with goal milestones

THE HAGUE, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Donyell Malen and Reza Ghoochannejhad were very much on target in the Dutch Eredivisie, with Malen scoring five for PSV on Saturday and Ghoochannejhad scoring four on Sunday for PEC Zwolle.

One week after his goal against Germany in his debut for the Dutch national team, 20-year-old PSV forward Malen produced two goals in the first half against league leaders Vitesse. He was on target againt just after the start of the second half and added two penalties to make it 5-0.

The last and only PSV players to score five times in an Eredivisie match were Bert Theunissen on November 8, 1964 against Sittardia and Coen Dillen against DWS on October 11, 1959. Bas Dost was the last Eredivisie player to score five times on December 10, 2011, for sc Heerenveen against Excelsior.

Ghoochannejhad arrived at PEC Zwolle on the final day of the Dutch transfer window after a spell at Sydney FC in Australia. On Sunday against RKC Waalwijk, he came on as a substitute in the 56th minute when his team was 2-1 down. Ghoochannejhad then remarkably scored four times in a row. For the first time in the history of the Eredivisie, a substitute scored four times. Gustavo Hamer made it 6-2 for the home-team in injury-time.

On Saturday, Ajax beat sc Heerenveen 4-1 in Amsterdam. Dusan Tadic opened the scoring by deflecting a free-kick by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Jens Odgaard equalized, Nicolas Tagliafico put Ajax in front again, Perr Schuurs scored his first goal for the first team of Ajax and Argentinian defender Tagliafico added his second goal with a spectacular volley.

Also on Saturday, AZ crushed Sparta Rotterdam 5-1 and FC Utrecht defeated FC Emmen 2-1. Ajax now lead the Eredivisie table with 13 points from five matches, followed by PSV, also on 13 points from five matches, but trailing on goal difference. Vitesse are third with 11 points from six matches.
