CHINA-HENAN-ART-TRI-COLORED GLAZED POTTERY-TECHNIQUE (CN)

Tri-colored glazed pottery technique inheritor Gao Shuiwang (R) prepares to fire the potteries at kilns in Nanshishan Village, Mengjin County, Luoyang City, central China's Henan Province, Aug. 15, 2018. Gao is a leading figure in the revival of tri-colored glazed pottery, or Sancai, a Chinese porcelain characterized by a glaze with three intermingled colours. The producing technique of Sancai, which flourished in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), was very complex and listed as one of China's National Intangible Heritages in 2008. Nanshishan Village in Henan is regarded as an important village of Sancai culture, with more than 70 enterprises now engaging in the industry. (Xinhua/Feng Dapeng)
