QUITO, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Ecuador international right-back Antonio Valencia has joined LDU Quito, a month after ending his 10-year spell at Manchester United.

The 33-year-old signed a two-year contract with the option of a third year, the Ecuadorian first division side said in a statement on Friday. No financial details were given.

"I'm very happy and proud to be able to wear this shirt," Valencia said in a video published the club's official website. "I am going to work as hard as I can to make sure the team achieves its objectives."

Valencia won two Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford, as well as the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Europa League.

LDU Quito are currently seventh in Ecuador's 16-team Serie A standings at the season's midway point.
