Aerial photo taken on May 9, 2019 shows the view of Lion Forest Garden in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province. Located in the east coast of mainland China, Jiangsu in recent years has made great efforts to adjust the ecological layout, optimize the industrial structure and adhere to green development. In 1997, the classical gardens of Suzhou were put on the UNESCO's heritage list. In 2018, the total number of gardens included in the "Suzhou Garden List" reached 108, and Suzhou was officially transformed from "the City of Gardens" into "the City of 100 Gardens". One sixth of the area in Jiangsu is covered by water. As a province grows with and thrives on water, the system of river chiefs originated here from the treatment of Taihu Lake. At present, there are more than 57,000 river chiefs at province, city, county, township and village levels in Jiangsu, which has made a full coverage of the water body. June 2 to 4, Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition ushered in "Jiangsu day" event. The event highlights the integration of classic industry and traditional culture, and comprehensively promotes the horticultural achievements in Jiangsu characteristics. (Xinhua/Li Bo)
